Type the following command and press the key ENTERto execute it.
sfc /scannow
The scan will start within a few seconds. Once the scan is complete, restart your computer and check if the error is fixed.
8. Run Check Disk.
If running an SFC scan does not fix the error, you can use a Check Disk scan. It scans the entire drive, not just the system files. Since there are more files to scan, a Check Disk scan takes much longer than an SFC scan. It scans all the damaged parts on the drive and fixes them as it goes.
To run a Check Disk scan
Type the following command in the Command Prompt and click ENTERto execute it. The command below will scan the C: drive. To scan job function email list other drives on your system, replace the driver letter “c” at the end with the letter of the drive you want to scan next.
chkdsk /f c:
If you are prompted to run a scan the next time you restart your computer, click Y, and then click ENTER.
